Who is Damian Hinds MP?
Damian Hinds, born November 1969, went to St. Ambrose College, a Catholic grammar school in Cheshire.
This was followed by studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford.
He entered politics in 2005 when he unsuccessfully stood in the general election for the Stretford and Urmston constituency.
Mr Hinds was eventually elected to parliament in the 2010 General Election for the East Hampshire constituency.
He spent two years on the Education select committee and was made Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury in 2015.
Mr Hinds was then appointed the Employment minister at the Department for Work and Pensions in July 2016.
On 8 January 2018 Mr Hinds was made Education Secretary following the resignation of Justine Greening who had refused to be moved to another Government post.
Love Island's Zara McDermott reportedly worked for Mr Hinds for eight months until she appeared on the reality show.
