Snowflake student union DEFENDS anti-Churchill cafe protest and call legendary leader a ‘war criminal’
Mollycoddled student chiefs at London's School of Oriental and African Sciences whined that the patriotic eatery was 'offensive' and defiantly insisted the legendary PM was a 'war criminal'
A STUDENT union has defended a whingeing mob of leftie snowflakes who stormed a Winston Churchill-themed cafe and called the wartime hero a "racist".
Mollycoddled student chiefs at London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) defiantly insisted that the legendary PM was a "war criminal" in a barmy statement supporting the demo.

The rambling statement also claims that the patriotic eatery is "offensive to those who continue to experience institutional racism".
It whinged: "On Saturday members of the Students’ Union led a protest against a cafe called ‘Blighty’, which celebrates British colonialism.
"At the Finsbury park location there are murals of war criminal Churchill and breakfast options such as the ‘Winston’ and the ‘Gandhi’.
"The protest involved reading out sections of Heathcote William’s poem ‘Great Britain’s, Greatest Beast’ followed by chanting ‘Churchill was a racist’.

"The cafe exercises a concerted historical amnesia of British colonialism, which is offensive to those who continue to experience institutional racism.
"The protest was targeted at the owner - calling for them to change the decorations and imagery of the cafes - and to the customer - to boycott until the owner takes these actions.
“The Soas Students’ Union continues to fight against colonialism and all manifestations of it. Our educational priorities this year included ‘Close the Attainment Gap’ and ‘Decolonise the Education and the Institution’.
“The Students’ Union seeks to address and interrogate colonial legacies and how these manifest within our institution.
Backlash against the snowflakes: Locals rally to support under-fire cafe
Despite leftie "activists" targetting the cafe, hundreds have rallied to support it in recent days.
One said: "I will definitely be visiting you when I'm next in London.
"Ignore the ignorant, left wing, socialist snowflakes who have tried to stir up hate and trouble!
"Their lack of historical knowledge is a reflection on their dumb attitudes and not on you and your lovely Cafe! Keep up the Blighty spirit!"
Another wrote: "Hope you will open more Blighty Cafes in the UK. Be proud of being British, nothing wrong with it.
"Left wing time wasters are just intolerant and want to silence or destroy anything and anybody not agreeing with their so-called values."

“We echo the protesters in their statement on Saturday: ‘you will never make colonialism palatable’.
The fourteen-strong protest came just weeks after owner Chris Evans, 47, had to remove a Churchill mural after it was vandalised.
Leading the protest was politics undergraduate Halimo Hussein, co-president of Equality and Liberation at Soas Students’ Union.

The statement claimed she has been hit with abuse since the press highlighted the campaign of intimidation.
As the furore grew over the Churchill cafe protest, one keyboard warrior not part of the group in the cafe took to Twitter to support them - slamming those who backed the wartime leader as "narcissistic, self-conceited, uneducated fascist scum" on Facebook.

Writing on the social networking site late last night, he told users that Churchill was a "c***" and a "Nazi" - and even added that he was "as bad as the people he helped win a war against".
He posted: "I just can't believe your [sic] defending a man who wanted to sterilise thousands of British people, thinking you're being patriotic. Hilarious."
Mr Cuff continued: "He caused the famine, he used concentration camps, he supported eugenics, admired Mussolini.
"The word for [it] is Nazi. Only reason he didn't support the Nazis was they weren't British."
