Mum, 29, told she has cervical cancer is now urging others to get checked

A YOUNG mum told she has cervical cancer is sharing her fight for life online to encourage others to get checked.
Mum-of-two Maxine Smith, 29, said on Facebook: “Last week I got told I have cervical cancer.
“To watch my family and loved ones in so much pain is too much for me to bear.
“I just pray it’s been caught in time so I can bring my children up.
“I’m hoping writing this I will make you ladies think and go get your smear.”
The hair stylist believes a recent move to Cheadle, Gtr Manchester, from Congleton, Chester may save her life.
Maxine says her former GP and hospital staff told her that bleeding after sex was caused by her contraception.
But after moving house, she changed her doctor and booked in for a smear test which revealed her cancer.
Maxine is now waiting to hear whether the cancer has spread and has been told she might need a hysterectomy - meaning she’ll not be able to have anymore children.
Maxine added: “If I haven’t of moved to Cheadle I think I would still not know I have cancer.
“I am now fighting for my life.
“This is the most heartbreaking news.
“To look at my children and to have the most heartbreaking feeling that soon I’m going to be so poorly and not be able to look after them are words I can’t explain.
“This is a mother’s worst fear.
“I’m just hoping posting this could save someone’s life or stop it happening before it’s too late.
“As I have learnt you can still be fit and feel healthy but also not know you have a life threatening illness.
“When a person finds out they have cancer their whole world comes crashing down.”
