Pair arrested on suspicion of murdering ten-week-old baby girl

Baby Lily-Mai Saint George was found unresponsive and died after being rushed to London's North Middlesex Hospital and then Great Ormond Street

TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a ten-week-old baby girl.

Cops are quizzing a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman after the youngster was found at an address in Tottenham, and later died.

Baby Lily-Mai Saint George was found unresponsive on January 31 by the London Ambulance Service.

She was rushed to the North Middlesex Hospital and then Great Ormond Street but died days later.

A Metropolitan Police statement said: "Despite the efforts of medical professionals she was pronounced dead on Friday, 2 February at 13:35hrs.

"Next of kin are aware and formal identification has taken place.

"A post-mortem has been held - cause of death has not been determined, with further tests to be carried out.

"Police arrested 20-year-old man [A] and a 21-year-old woman [B] on suspicion of murder on Monday, 16 April.

"They were taken to an East London police station and have since been released on bail to a date in April.

"Enquiries continue."
