Abraham Badru’s mum reveals agony as hero son who saved girl from rapists is murdered 10 years on in ‘revenge’ attack
Abraham Badru, who was just 14 when he intervened in the two-hour attack in 2007, was blasted in the chest with a shotgun last month

A GRIEVING mum has told how she has been left feeling "empty" after her son who rescued a girl being raped by a mob of teenage boys was shot dead 10 years on.
Abraham Badru, who was just 14 when he intervened in the two-hour attack in 2007, was blasted in the chest with a shotgun last month - allegedly in revenge for testifying against them.
His heartbroken mum Ronke, 50, claims that "his murder was connected", while the Met Police has said it is an "active line of inquiry".
Abraham ran to help the 14-year-old girl as she was being attacked by up to 15 boys in a stairwell in Hackney, East London.
He was later threatened by their associates, who tried to stop him giving evidence.
Ronke revealed how he often didn't feel safe as a result of the threats.
She claimed his car had been targeted with the mirrors and windscreen smashed.
Speaking to the she said: "For 10 years, Abraham was afraid that someone would try to kill him.
"And now it has happened. I am empty. He was killed for being a hero. How can that possibly be right?"
His mum said Abraham was trying to move out of Hackney when he was gunned down.
Community workers in Hackney also believe the killing could be connected.
One long-time worker, who asked not to be named, said: "They have a code. Snitching is snitching.
"They are like a society within a society, with their own rules."
They added: "This is the process, the protocol now - revenge."
Abraham was awarded a bravery medal for helping to convict the rapists in 2008, but was forced to move to Bristol at 16.

Last month, he was getting a drink from his car when a killer on a white bike shot him dead.
Det Chf Insp Noel McHugh told that a revenge attack was being investigated but also stressed it could be a case of mistaken identity.
He said: "Somebody close to the killer will know the reason for killing Abraham, from a change in the gunman's behaviour."
