They then got out the car and one of the masked men, wearing a black hoodie and jeans, slashed at the car with a machete.

The BMW then smashed into the Toyota again, lifting its back wheels off the ground.

Another man, dressed in a coat and Adidas tracksuit bottoms, then appeared to launch a hammer at the windscreen.

The shocking incident is the latest in a series of brazen daylight attacks.

In a separate incident today a group of robbers armed with hammers and knives rode in to Watches of Switzerland on London's Regent Street on scooters and made off with a number of items.

One male has been arrested, but Scotland Yard is still hunting other suspects who fled from the scene on a scooter.

Elsewhere the Metropolitan Police yesterday arrested a 17-year-old boy after a terrifying video emerged of a cyclist attacking a car with a huge knife in Croydon, in south London.

He was taken to a south London police station where he remained in custody last night.

His arrest came after a dashcam video was circulated online showing a man on a bike pulling out a ‘zombie-killer’ style knife before trying to smash into the window of a car in London Road on May 30.

In another shocking attack yesterday, comedian Michael McIntyre was robbed by two men on a moped while parked outside his children's school.

The driver’s window of his Range Rover was smashed as he went to pick up his kids in North West London.

The crooks forced the shaken father of two, 42, to hand over his watch — believed to be worth £15,000.

The terrifying attack happened at about 2pm in plush Hampstead, North West London.

McIntyre’s agent said: “Michael was involved in an incident involving armed robbers. He is absolutely fine and helping police with their inquiries.”

The Met Police said: “Police were called to reports of a robbery. Officers attended.

"The victim was stationary in his car when two males on a moped smashed the car windows with a hammer before stealing property. No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made. Inquiries continue. Anyone with information is asked to call police.”
