Father Ted creator Graham Linehan gets testicular cancer all-clear just one day after he revealed tumour surgery
The comedy writer, who was also behind The IT Crowd, announced he wouldn't need chemotherapy in a joyous tweet

FATHER Ted creator Graham Linehan was given the cancer all-clear today - just one day after announcing he'd had surgery to remove a testicle tumour.
The comedy writer went public with his cancer battle yesterday and feared he would have to under go a course of chemotherapy to blast away any remaining cancerous cells.
But Linehan - who is currently working on a Craggy Island musical - revealed his oncologist had told him "everything's clear" and he wouldn't need chemo.
He made the reveal in a joyous tweet, featuring a gif of a young girl celebrating in emphatic fashion.
The prolific Twitter user - who has almost 700,000 followers - wrote: "Everything's clear. No chemo!
"Can't believe it! NO CHEMO!"
He spoke of the painful battle he thought he was going to face - and his relief at the good news.
Linehan wrote: "Have been organising my life around the idea that the next three months were just gone!"
Fans were quick to join in on the celebrations - with one sending Linehan a gif of Father Ted character Father Jack skipping while holding a large lollipop.
Another asked if he was still "accompanied by both balls".
But Linehan made clear he'd already had the op - tweeting: "One of those ships has sailed."
The Irishman announced his testicular cancer fight after having to cancel a comedy tour of Australia.
He expressed regret at the cancellation in light of the all-clear, tweeting: "Thanks to everyone who sent kind words.
"I'm annoyed I worried you all unnecessarily.
"And I cancelled Australian events. Dohhhhh.
"Still though. Cancer free I be!"
Yesterday, Linehan announced his testicular cancer in lighthearted fashion, with the tweet: "I got a bit of bad news recently. A little touch of the old cancer.
"Luckily, ball cancer is one of the best ones to have (sorry, ladies!) and they got rid of it all pretty quickly, along with a ball.
"Bye, ball! I’ll never forget the good times!
He continued with news about the musical he's writing, in which Father Ted becomes Pope: "'Pope Ted' is coming along nicely. It's really making us laugh.
"I'm not sure whether I'll have to stop working on it or what, but the script (sorry, 'book') is so close to being done that I can walk away from it for a while and we're still in good shape."

The Mrs Doyle star predicts will be a box office smash, but can’t see herself playing the loyal housekeeper in it because of her limited singing ability.
