Two-year-old boy killed after being struck by car in Bray, County Wicklow

The incident happened at around 4.30pm and the boy was rushed to Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin where he was pronounced dead

A TWO-year-old boy has been killed after being hit by a car.

Cops have launched an investigation after the tragedy in in Bray, Ireland at around 4.30pm on Monday.

The boy was rushed to Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin where he was pronounced dead.

A police spokesman said: "We are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Silverbridge, Bray, Co Wicklow at 4.30pm on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018.

"A two-year-old boy was fatally injured when he was struck by a car.

"The boy was taken to Crumlin Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead."

Officers said the driver of the car was uninjured.

"The scene is sealed off and the area is due to be examined by Garda Forensic collision Investigators in the morning."

Forensic teams have been sent to the area.

Bray is a coastal town about 12 miles from Dublin.
