FIVE men have been charged over a suspected acid attack on a three-year-old boy.

Police said the men were charged with "conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm" after the alleged incident at Home Bargains in Worcester on Saturday.

Two men from Wolverhampton, aged 39 and 41 and three men from London, aged 22, 25 and 26 will appear at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court this morning.

Cops said they will not be releasing their names or connections to the victim.

The lad was left with serious burns to his face and arms.

"He has since been discharged but the long-term implications of his injuries are unknown at this time," West Mercia police said.

The police had arrested the fifth man in connection with the on-going investigation on Tuesday and said it believed the incident to be an isolated one without a wider risk to the public.

Officers have yet to identify the corrosive substance used.

The suspected attack occurred in the Tallow Hill area of Worcester at about 2.15pm on Saturday

The identity of the toddler has not been released.
