Elon Musk faces US Air Force probe after smoking weed live on YouTube as drug-taking breaches SpaceX security clearance
THE US Air Force is looking into whether Elon Musk breached his security clearance after the SpaceX boss took one puff on a joint during a podcast interview.
The eccentric billionaire, 47, took a drag of a marijuana roll up on the Los Angeles-based Joe Rogan experience because the drug is legal in the state of California.

However, weed is prohibited for people with government security clearance which Musk was given in 2015 when SpaceX began launching satellites for the Pentagon.
A source within the Air Force said that staff were examining Musk's behaviour on the podcast which was streamed live on YouTube, reports.
Shortly after smoking, Musk dressed in a black T-shirt that said "Occupy Mars" told comedian Rogan: “I'm not a regular smoker of weed.”
He added: "I don't find that it is very good for productivity.”
Shortly after Musk’s appearance on the podcast, the shares for his car company Tesla Inc dropped more than six per cent.

Musk's behaviour has come under scrutiny in recent weeks after he labelled British diver Vern Unsworth a paedophile.
Unsworth is a British expat who lives near the Tham Luang cave network in Thailand where 12 boys and their football coach were trapped from June 23 until July 10.
He was scathing of Musk's offer to send a mini-submarine to help in the rescue efforts, which he dismissed as "just a PR stunt".
Musk hit back at Vern in a bizarre series of tweets, some of which he later deleted.

He claimed it was suspicious the expat lived in Thailand before explicitly branding him a "paedo".
After apologising for the slur, he took to Twitter again on August 28, this time to question why diver Vern hasn't sued him in wake of the remarks.
The billionaire this week labelled the cave diver a "child rapist" in a rambling email to reporters - prompting the Brit to reveal he is planning to sue Musk in three different countries.
