Prince Philip, 97, spotted behind wheel near Balmoral Castle as ‘retired’ Duke refuses to stop driving despite hip replacement
The Duke of Edinburgh, 97, took his Land Rover out for a spin on the A93 near Balmoral

HE may have reached the ripe old age of 97.
But Prince Philip - who underwent hip surgery earlier this year - is not yet ready to hang up his driving gloves.
The Duke of Edinburgh was spotted taking his Land Rover for a spin on the A93 Braemar to Aberdeen on his way back to Balmoral Castle on Saturday.
Philip, who retired from royal duties in August 2017, wore spectacles for the short journey.
He was last seen travelling with the Queen in the royal Bentley to a church service in Balmoral on August 19.
That was the first time he'd been seen in public since a polo event at Windsor on June 24.
Philip was discharged from hospital following a successful hip replacement operation on April 13. His hip problem came to light after his absence from the Easter service at Windsor.
But Philip has made a remarkable bounce back to health and has even been fishing and hunting during his summer break.
Just like the Queen, Philip enjoys driving while on their annual holidays in Balmoral.
The Queen has been spotted this summer driving to grouse shoots on her 50,000 acre estate up very rough, narrow and steep gradients in the hills above Loch Muick in her green Range Rover.
Her Majesty learned her four wheel driving skills with the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the Second World War.
