CRISTY Caserta, a former contestant on American reality show The Bachelor, has died suddenly after suffering an apparent seizure.
The 38-year-old went into cardiac arrest after slumping forward on her desk during a class at a school in Florida.
Cristy appeared on Season 15 of The Bachelor in 2011 but was sent home in the first week.
She was reportedly attending a class in Sunrise, Florida, when she suddenly slumped over her desk.
According to a police officer, fellow students around her noticed her coffee falling to the ground and thought initially that she had maybe fallen asleep.
But when they approached her she was unresponsive, prompting her alarmed classmates to call 911.
Emergency first responders gave the former reality TV contestant CPR, claiming she had suffered a seizure.
She was rushed to the nearby Westside Regional Medical Center where medics fought to save her life but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
A post-mortem will be carried out today to establish an exact cause of death.
Police say they do not suspect any foul play and no drugs were found on her person.
Cristy, originally from Davie, Florida, was just 30 when she appeared on Season 15 of the US reality show.
The season was the second shot at love for bachelor Brad Womak, who had previously attempted and failed to find love on Season 11.
But Cristy was among ten hopefuls send home in the first week.
After her elimination, Cristy didn't seek celebrity, choosing instead to go back to her life working at an attorney's office.
According to her LinkedIn page, she was most recently working as corporate counsel at MedPro Healthcare Staffing.
Stephen Carbone, the blogger behind the Bachelor fan site Reality Steve, paid tribute to her on Twitter.
He wrote: “Sick to my stomach to see that Cristy Caserta from Brad Womack’s second season has suddenly passed away.
“Cristy was always there to give me legal advice in the past.
“I’m at a loss after seeing people post on her FB. Just spoke a couple weeks ago. RIP my friend.”
