Incredible drone photos show Lake District burst to life in autumn colours from above

Photographer Jerome Courtial came to the Lake District for the first time to take these incredible snaps

A FLURRY of autumnal colours burst into life across the picturesque Lake District.

The colourful shots taken by a drone show what the stunning national park looks like from above.

Trees, grass and mountains can be seen as they transform into pretty reds, yellows, oranges and greens.

Popular spots such as the Derwent Island house and Lake Windermere as well as hiking routes were captured by photographer Jerome Courtial.

Mr Courtial, 40, shot various locations in the Lake District including the Cat Bells, Loughrigg Fell, Hardknott Pass and Honister Pass.

The photographer, who lives in London, said he had never visited the Lake District before and was stunned at its beauty.

Mr Courtial said: "The Lake District is such a famous spot to photograph and it's easy to see why.

"I had actually never visited before so wasn't really sure what to expect, but the experience was incredible.

"These were taken either first thing in the morning as the sun was rising or last thing in the evening, as it was setting.

"I was so happy with the light, the sun made all the difference as the sun just makes the area look amazing.

"The colours were fantastic, it's so impressive to see the trees as they change in autumn.

"The whole area was very colourful and pretty."
