YOU can land a free trip to the Bahamas this Christmas – but there are two small catches

A wealthy West London family posted an ad on a babysitting app searching for a nanny willing to travel to the Bahamas with them for two weeks

A BABYSITTING app has been swamped with responses to a parent's ad inviting a child minder to join their family on a free holiday in the Bahamas.

The job involves two weeks looking after two toddlers at breakfast and bedtime.

The app, called Bubble, said there were "hundreds" of excited replies from amongst its 75,000-strong user base.

With the family's regular nanny due to be away, childcare responsibilities for her replacement would be caring for two girls aged two and four during breakfast and bedtime routines.

But after breakfast and after 8pm, the job description states the sitter would be "largely left to their own devices".

As well as a ‘generous’ pay-packet, the sitter will have an en suite bedroom, access to the in-house hot tub, spa and private beach in Turks and Caicos.

The job was posted by a banking executive from West London and has proved unsurprisingly very popular.

Dozens of nannies applied within seconds of the post going up, causing a massive spike to the service on Monday.

Dad-of-three and bubble co-founder Ari Last said: "We're used to seeing parents get quick responses to their ads but this one was off the charts.

"I was considering applying myself before my wife stopped me!

"For sitters, the downside of doing the job would mean Christmas spent away from family, though judging by the sheer number of applicants it seems as though a luxury trip to the Bahamas takes precedence."

Mr Last said the average wage for a babysitter on Bubble is £10 an hour, with the firm taking an average cut of 6% depending on how much work the sitter does.
