Mentally-ill builder who killed ex-wife after he stopped taking prescribed medication has been jailed for life

A MENTALLY-ill builder who strangled his ex-wife after he stopped taking his meds has been jailed.
Adrian Rodi, 50, throttled and smothered Angela Rider on three occasions before he killed her at home in Cawood, North Yorkshire.
He was discharged from a mental health unit in March 2015 and despite being advised to continue to take prescribed psychotropic medication the court heard Rodi stopped doing so in December 2015.
He killed mum-of-one Angela, 51, in March.
On Monday prosecutors told how, following an argument over dinner on March 4, Rodi strangled Ms Rider to death at her home in Chestnut Road, Cawood, North Yorkshire.
He admitted manslaughter and was jailed for at least nine years.
