THREE prisoners have been charged with murder following the death of a lag who was serving a life sentence for killing another inmate by smashing a television set over his head.
Taras Nykolyn had killed 66-year-old Egyptian Wadid Barsoum in 2016 after his loud praying annoyed him and he fractured the older man's skull, neck and jaw with a number of punches and smashed the TV in their cell over his head.
Nykolyn, 49, was sent to Broadmoor after the killing before being transferred to HMP Woodhill, a category A prison with around 800 prisoners, in Milton Keynes.
While locked up there he was killed in a bust-up with other inmates in June.
Tonight a spokesman for Thames Valley Police: "Stephen Boorman, aged 33 years, of HMP Belmarsh, James Brabbs, aged 32 years, of HMP Long Lartin, and Jibreel Raheem, aged 26 years, of HMP Woodhill, were today charged with one count of murder.
"It is in connection with an incident at Woodhill Prison on Monday June 5 2018 in which a man was assaulted and died as a result of his injuries.
“The victim was formally identified as 49-year-old Taras Nykolyn."

Psychiatrists concluded Nykolyn was probably suffering from paranoid psychosis when he killed Barsoum and a judge jailed him for life with a minimum term of seven-and-a-half years.
Boorman, Brabbs and Raheem are due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrate’s Court on December 12, all accused of murder.
