Rich businessman’s wife who mowed down OAP in Sainsbury’s must pay him four weeks’ ‘pocket money’ she gets from husband
Liana Tyson, 34, ploughed into 77-year-old Brian Viner with her Range Rover in Altrincham, Greater Manchester

A WEALTHY businessman's wife who hit an old man with her Range Rover leaving him in hospital for months was ordered to pay him just four weeks' "pocket money".
Liana Tyson, 34, receives £12,000 a year in housekeeping allowance from her husband to pay for treats - but was told to give £1,000 compensation to 77-year old Brian Viner after she ploughed into him while leaving a Sainsbury's supermarket.
Brian suffered a broken hip and fractures to his ribs plus cuts to the back of his head and has been left immobile since the accident last July 15.
He underwent a tracheotomy resulting in him having to be fed through a tube and he is still being treated in Manchester Royal Infirmary today.
Liana, who has a £300,000 flat in a luxury apartment complex in Altrincham, Greater Manchester initially claimed Brian crossed the road without looking and she didn’t see him crossing.
But she changed her statement after watching CCTV of the incident showing the right-hand side of her Range Rover Sport - worth around £41,500 - hitting Brian.
Witnesses said the car appeared to be in a rush and swerved round a corner before hitting him.
And the OAP victim recalled checking left and right and thought it was safe to cross.
At Manchester Magistrates' Court, Liana admitted careless driving and was also fined £166 and ordered to pay costs of £85.
She additionally had six points put on her licence - meaning she will not be banned from the roads.

Liana admitted Brian but said she was unable to avoid him.
In a statement she said: "I am really sorry he was injured. I hope everything goes well with his recovery.
"I braked as soon as I saw him. I believe he stepped into the road when the red light was clearly showing."
