The child is flung about 40ft through the air before crashing down on the pavement.

Incredibly the lad survives with his arm and collar bone broken in the incident.

Now the boy's family have released the CCTV of the collision to the public.

The footage was originally shown at Swansea Magistrates' Court — where the driver pleaded guilty to failing to stop after a road accident.

The 29-year-old motorist also pleaded guilty to failing to report the crash.

At sentencing, District Judge Christopher James said the driver was given little time to react, reports.

He said: "You stopped after the collision and went to see him. At that stage he was with an adult you believed was known to him.

"Following that you got back in your vehicle and left.

"You must have known he would have been injured by the nature of that collision."

The driver was handed a 12-month community order and was also sentenced to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work.

His licence was also endorsed with ten points lasting three years.
