DARREN Shane Pencille is accused of murdering a father who died after being stabbed on a train.
It is alleged he launched a frenzied attack after Lee Pomeroy, 51, crossed his path as he moved seats on a Waterloo-bound train from London Road Guildford.
Darren is a 35-year-old who was reportedly born in London but has in the past few months lived in a housing association flat in Farnham, Surrey.
Neighbours said he and his partner, Chelsea Mitchell, a 27-year-old mother of one, were unemployed.
Mitchell is charged with assisting an offender after she allegedly picked him up in her car.
The charge states she helped the alleged killer leave the scene and also to change his appearance on January 4.
The pair were arrested during a dawn raid by armed officers at their flat after cops traced him to the address.
Pencille is charged with the murder of Lee Pomeroy, 51, and possessing an offensive weapon.
This relates to an incident where Mr Pomerory was stabbed on a South Western Railway 12.58pm service from Guildford to London Waterloo at London Road station on Friday, January 4.
Staines Magistrates Court heard the victim, who lived in Guildford and owned an IT firm, suffered nine stab wounds and died soon after.
Pencille has made no formal plea yet after making his first appearance at Staines Magistrates Court and then Guildford Crown Court on January 7.
As he was taken away he told magistrate Helen Mattey: "I'm innocent until proven guilty."
He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
