The Sun’s Hero of the Week is girl born with back to front legs who learned to walk after life-changing surgery
Victoria Komada, 3, was born with a congenital deformity which caused her to have deformed legs and missing bones

THE Sun’s Hero Of The Week celebrates the ordinary people who do out-of-the-ordinary things.
Each week, we present a worthy recipient with a special Sun front page and a £50 thank you.
This week, the award goes to Victoria Komada – a three-year-old who had to learn how to walk after undergoing life-changing surgery.
The toddler has bilateral tibial hemimelia – a congenital deformity which causes babies to be born with deformed legs and missing bones.
Her parents Marzena Drusewicz, 32, and Dariusz Komada, 41, of Norwich, thought the only solution was a double amputation after she was born with “backward legs”.
But they managed to raise £180,000 for specialist treatment in Florida, US.

Now Victoria is walking for the first time.
Marzena says: “We are so happy Victoria has been crowned Hero of the Week. It means a lot that her bravery is recognised. She’s a hero in my eyes.
“Her recovery has been amazing and our whole existence has changed.”
