AN abusive husband who battered his wife when she refused to give him clean socks has walked free from court.
Andrzej Kwietniewski, 39, slapped and headbutted the woman and also threatened to kill her.
The Polish national also made his wife hand over her wages and tormented her by repeatedly “breaking wind” at their home in Warndon, Worcs.
Kwietniewski was arrested after chasing his terrified wife into a school.
He admitted controlling and coercive behaviour and got a 12-month suspended sentence at Worcester crown court.
He was also ordered to rehab, told to do unpaid work and made subject of a restraining order.
Judge Jim Tindal said: “He has not come across as full of remorse.”
