Who is Tony Robbins?

Tony Robbins made his name as a motivational speaker and is best known in the US for his infomercials and self-help books.

Robbins was born in Hollywood, California, on February 29 1960, making him 59.

His seminars and life-coaching sessions specialise in helping victims of abuse and those struggling with addiction.

Robbins charges thousands per session, with his most expensive programme costing $85,000 (£67,000) a year.

Thanks to his hefty fees he has amassed a multi-million dollar fortune.

He counts the Kardashians, President Trump and Oprah among his celebrity fans.

The controversial star has written five books, four of which are bestsellers.

In 2014 he released Money: Master the Game on how to cope with the financial crisis, which reached number one on the New York Times bestselling list.

What are the sexual misconduct allegations against him?

An investigation by featured allegations of sexual misconduct by former fans and staff working for Robbins.

Two women claimed he had sexually harassed them by repeatedly pursuing them after they turned him down.

Another two accusers alleged that Robbins expected them to work alone with him when he was naked in his hotel room or in the shower.

One woman said she lost her job after having a consensual sexual relationship with him.

All of the incidents are said to have taken place from the 1990s to the early 2000s.

The report also claims that Robbins berated victims of rape and domestic violence.

He said of one rape survivor: "She’s f***ing using all this stuff to try and control men."

In 2018 he's said to have accused one victim of lying about having a violent husband, calling her a "crazy bitch".

Two former bodyguards claim they were sent out to trawl audiences for attractive women for Robbins.

How has he responded to the allegations?

Robbins has published an responding to the allegations.

He wrote: "Let me be clear, while my open-classroom therapeutic methods are not for everyone, and while I am on my best day still only an imperfect human being, I have never behaved in the reckless, irresponsible, or malicious manner intimated by false, unfounded, and incendiary allegations suggested by BuzzFeed story-tellers."

Robbins claims to have helped 50 million people, including the four million who have attended his live events.
