Manchester Airport delays – Sam Allardyce among hundreds of passengers stuck after being unable to check-in due to IT failure

SAM Allardyce was left stuck in huge delays at Manchester Airport today after an IT failure has left hundreds of passengers stranded.
The ex-England football manager was pictured looking less than impressed along with other frustrated holidaymakers unable to check in for their flights.
Big Sam, who most recently managed Everton, was spotted inside the busy terminals as airport staff investigated the cause of the IT problem.
It's not yet clear how long the disruption is expected to go on for.
Kate Laughton, 30, was supposed to be flying out to Turkey with a pal for a holiday this afternoon.
But she’s now facing delays for “hours” at Manchester Airport.
Kate, from Doncaster in South Yorkshire, told Sun Online: “We got into a queue and then we got told ‘you need to come back an hour later’.
“They kept announcing every five minutes that there was IT issues and there was going to be a delay.”
Kate says despite the disruption, very little information is being given to passengers from “rude” staff members.
She said: “Everybody who was on the flights before us has been left stood in the check-in queues, and they’ve probably been there over two hours now – they’re just not moving.
“Everybody’s just really stressed - feel sorry for anyone with families.”
Furious passengers have vented their frustration by sharing pictures of packed terminals on social media.
Jordan Elliott tweeted: "Manchester Airport in total lockdown.
"No-one checking in due to computer failure!"
And Clair Griffiths wrote: "Can't check in due to system failure but it's like sardines in a tin it's too full."
Danny Willatt wrote simply: "F*****g chaos".
A Manchester Airport spokesman said: "The IT issue affecting check-in earlier today has now been resolved and we apologise to our passengers for the inconvenience this may have caused to their journey."
The IT issues come just one month after children were forced to sleep on the floor when a power outage caused mass disruption at the airport.
