It is sold in brightly coloured 500ml cans for £2.99 with fruity flavours which appeal to teen drinkers.

The alcopop has been available in Scotland for several years.

There, a 15-year-old stabbed another pupil twice in the face after downing three cans of Dragon Soop and vodka.

And a dad killed his baby after drinking Dragon Soop and MD 20/20.

Experts warn the alcohol and caffeine mix mean vulnerable kids risk losing control, with those was-ted on it likened to “zombies”.

MSP Jackie Baillie said the combination creates “wired, wide-awake drunks”.

She has called for a caffeine limit of 15mg per 100ml of alcohol.

Alison Douglas, of Alcohol Focus Scotland, said the flavours were “reminiscent of a sweet shop”.
