SAJID Javid yesterday refused three times to rule out an electoral deal with Nigel Farage.

Mr Farage’s Brexit Party has offered the Tories a “non-aggression pact” and says the two would romp to a collective majority of more than 100 if No 10 signs up.

The Chancellor said the Conservatives did not need to do a deal with another party — but pointedly refused to rule one out.

He told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show: “We don’t need an electoral alliance with anyone. We can stand on our own two feet.”

Mr Farage has offered not to field candidates against Tories in key seats.

And he insisted both parties would be “unstoppable” if they worked together.

He said: “We have done a huge amount of research and analysis on this and will say to Boris Johnson’s team, ‘If you do this, between us we will have a majority of between 70 and 100 seats’.”

Instead of trying to oust Brexit-backing Tories, Mr Farage would throw his full strength into trying to steal seats from Labour. In return, he wants the PM to order Tory candidates not to run in his key Labour targets.

A Brexit Party source said they were still waiting to hear if Mr Johnson and his chief adviser Dominic Cummings would sign up to the plan.

In a reference to the notoriously scruffy Mr Cummings, the insider added: “There are many conversations taking place.

“Whether our friend in the crumpled shirt is keen, we will see.”
