Labour pushed into third place in polls as Jeremy Corbyn admits he is ‘daunted’ by the prospect of becoming PM

LABOUR has been pushed into THIRD place in the polls after Jeremy Corbyn suggested he won’t pick a side in another EU referendum.

A YouGov poll showed the Lib Dems on 23 per cent - 2 points ahead of Labour - following their change of policy to reverse Brexit without even holding a referendum.

And last night Mr Corbyn admitted he is daunted by the prospect of becoming PM.

Both parties still trail the Tories, who remain on 32 per cent.

A second poll yesterday confirmed the public’s dismal verdict on Mr Corbyn by putting the Lib Dems just one point behind.

Mr Corbyn told the BBC that he is "absolutely" ready to become PM, but asked if he was daunted, he replied: "Yes."

Yesterday former PM Tony Blair said Mr Corbyn currently had no chance of winning the next election as he delivered another blistering attack on the state of the Labour party.

He told the Evening Standard that he must block Boris Johnson from holding an election until after a second referendum, saying it would be a “gamble of historical proportions” if he allows a vote before Brexit is settled.
