Infamous prisoner Charles Bronson hopes to be out by CHRISTMAS, as he rages at parole hearing delay

BRITAIN'S most dangerous prisoner hopes to be out of jail by Christmas as he rages at delays to his parole hearing.

Charles Bronson, 69, was first caged for armed robbery in 1974 but manic sprees of violence and blackmail while inside have kept the lag firmly behind bars.

Now known as Charles Salvador, the notorious inmate, who has battered prison guards to a pulp and taken hostages during his 48 years in jail says the prison system is "sucking away" his life.

In a raging interview, he told he fears his parole hearing to get him out may not take place until December 12 – meaning he could be out at Christmas.

He added: “Every time my jam roll [parole] comes up for the last 30 odd years they start playing games and this is the biggest, cruellest, nastiest game they have ever played - ever.

“I was expecting my jam roll [parole] to be in July or August. It’s now two and a half years late."

The lag - who once claimed he "can rip out 1,727 press-ups in an hour" thanks to a brutal fitness regime he developed - wants to live the rest of his life in Devon in peace.

The prisoner is after a public parole hearing which will be one of the first of its type in Britain where they have always been outlawed, they become law from July 21.

Bronson, who has been married three times, explained: "I want the public to see what vindictive b*****ds these people really are."

He has had all bids for parole refused since he was first jailed in 1974.

The prisoner - who says he has all the paperwork ready and is prepared to register a complaint if his parole hearing is extended - claims his treatment by the prison service is "revenge".

The 69-year-old - who insists he is "not a danger to anybody" - once took two Iraqi hijackers and an inmate hostage at high security Belmarsh Prison.

During negotiations the dad-of-two threatened to eat one of his captives and demanded a cheese and pickle sandwich, it was reported.

The prisoner is currently held at HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes but claims he is changed and now "chilled out".

It comes as Bronson released a chilling audio message , asking: "What I'm I in jail for?"

He added: "I bet you can't believe I'm still in, can you? It's an absolute liberty. I'm 70 years old now, 70 years old. I've never murdered anyone; I've never raped anyone."

During his life, Bronson has been held in each of England's three special psychiatric hospitals.
