Buckingham Palace has not confirmed the type of cancer, but it is understood not to be the prostate.

The Sun's royal photographer Arthur Edwards said he believes Charles will get well soon thanks to Camilla's support.

Speaking on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, Arthur said: "I suspect the King is going to make a full recovery.

"I really do. It's tough times for the royal family at the moment. you know.

"Catherine's not coming back until after Easter. We don't when the King will be back at work or back facing the public.

"The reason he doesn't do that is that he can't afford to catch colds or an illness or the flu which would hamper his treatment.

He added: "The reason he's keeping away from the public eye is because of that.

"It's not because he doesn't want to. It's because the doctors have ordered him not to.

"The King is carrying a heavy load, but Camilla is supporting him with it.

"They laugh a lot. She's no doormat - she stands up to him, she won't be bullied.

Queen Camilla meets Ukraine’s first lady at Clarence House

"This relationship has been going on a long while now and they're incredibly happy together.

"She will be there supporting him whatever happens until the very end."

It comes after Queen Camilla put an arm around Ukraine’s First Lady as she welcomed her to Clarence House yesterday.

Olena Zelenska visited Camilla and thanked her for the King’s support of Ukraine on this week’s second anniversary of Russia’s invasion.

Ms Zelenska posted a video online showing Camilla greeting her with a kiss on both cheeks and saying: “Hello. How very nice to see you.”

They were pictured in conversation in the Garden Room as they discussed the bravery of Ukrainians.

Ms Zelenska said: “Our values are common — life, freedom, democracy. Thank you for standing up for them together today.”

Camilla also thanked Ms Zelenska for her presence at the late Queen’s funeral.

They are also understood to have spoken of the effects of the war on women and children and how the UK can assist in caring for them.

The Queen and the first lady met previously in November 2022 at a Buckingham Palace reception to raise awareness of violence against women.

Ms Zelenska was also a guest at the King and Queen’s coronation last May, representing her war-torn nation with its prime minister Denys Shmyhal.

Camilla has been praised for keeping “the show on the road” while the King receives cancer treatment.
