L'Oreal Retinol Night Cream review: full review
It’s time to come clean. There are so many anti-ageing beauty products on the market that claim to banish wrinkles, knock ten years off the face and reduce the appearance of fine lines, but you really have to go skin deep to know what works and what doesn’t.
At first glance, there is no extravagant packaging to this product but don’t let that put you off. What does stand out on the box are the highlighted words "REVITALIFT LASER" and "RETIONOL + NIACINAMIDE".
Obviously, there is no laser device within this cream — I believe it is referring to the effects a laser has on your face, which in the world of skincare means making it more firm, less wrinkly and less red. And this cream does all that.

Then we come to the two hard hitting ingredients: retinol and niacinamide. Both are huge multitaskers in the world of combatting ageing.
Although the word niacinamide may sound a little scary, it’s basically Vitamin B3, an essential nutrient for your skin that helps make it look smoother.

Meanwhile, retinol delivers a long list of skin-supporting benefits known to fight the key signs of ageing such as wrinkles and uneven skin texture.
The combination of the two ingredients, with the addition of a host of nourishing oils, means this is a pot of gold.
The light cream glides on skin easily and the texture means a very little goes a long way – so in terms of price point, this is a winner.
Being a night cream, it is so velvety and soft that there is something rather soothing about applying it at the end of the day; you can feel it going to work on your skin overnight. The two skin superstar ingredients work together to make skin feel softer and you wake up with a glow, instead of dull, tired looking skin.
As someone who is very sensitive to smell, I don’t like my skincare products to be too overbearing but this scent is divine. It has a very light and refreshing fragrance that left my hands smelling good too.

L'Oreal Retinol Night Cream review: the verdict
Most importantly, did this work as an anti-ageing cream? I have to say yes.
I have had Botox on my forehead so can’t tell if it worked there, but where I did notice a difference — after just ten days — is on the lines around my eyes, which were visibly reduced.
My brown sun skin spots were lighter, making my complexion more even-toned. What’s more, I suffer from very tight dehydrated skin and this worked as one of the best moisturisers by far.
