Dedicated F1 star Charles Leclerc dumped model girlfriend to challenge Lewis Hamilton for title
CHARLES LECLERC has dumped his stunning model girlfriend in order to challenge Lewis Hamilton for the F1 title.
The Monegasque has binned long term missus Giada Gianni whose Instagram has been wiped of any photos of the Ferrari driver.
Leclerc finished third behind Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas in Sunday's Russian GP despite starting on pole.
And the 21-year-old is rapidly becoming the driver to beat as his internal power struggle with veteran teammate Sebastian Vettel intensifies week on week.
Leclerc sits third in the F1 standings but will find it almost impossible to catch championship leader Lewis Hamilton who is currently 107 points ahead of the young Ferrari driver.
But in an effort to close that gap and mount a serious challenge next season, Leclerc has made the drastic change to his personal life.
Italian Gianni, also 21, announced the news during an Instagram live video in which she explained the reason behind the split.
Vanity Fair report she said: "Charles left me. He wants to devote himself only to Ferrari."
Gianni has more than 58,000 followers on Instagram and was often seen track side in the paddock supporting her former beau.
Leclerc is yet to comment on the news instead focusing on racing after Sunday's result.

He became the first Ferrari driver since Michael Schumacher in 2001 to take four successive poles and said: "It feels very, very special but I don't want to think about stats for now.
"I just want to focus on the job. There is a long way to go and it is a good start.
“We have been competitive all weekend and the race simulation seems good too."
