Floyd Mayweather reveals mega-fight with Conor McGregor is definitely ‘possible’

FLOYD MAYWEATHER has revealed a sensational tear-up with UFC star Conor McGregor is "possible".
SunSport told you that the two were on the verge of agreeing a billion dollar bout.
And Floyd Mayweather Snr confirmed his son was in talks to box "some MMA fighter" a day after SunSport's exclusive story.
Now the retired five-weight world champion has refused to rule out the highly-anticipated fight and even told fans to "keep your fingers crossed" for the "possible" superstar showdown.
Speaking before Amir Khan's WBC middleweight title loss to Saul Alvarezin Las Vegas last night, Mayweather said of fighting McGregor: "It's possible you know.
"It was a name that was shot at me but the rumour that ya'll been hearing - the rumours that I started - may not be a rumour, so keep your fingers crossed.
"It may be a boxer versus an MMA fighter."
Money Mayweather — with the joint best boxing record in history of 49 wins from 49 fights — is set to earn £100million in the boxing bout, while McGregor will take home £7million.
Both sides just have to agree on the purse and sign the paperwork — which sources say is imminent — and an announcement is likely to be made in the coming weeks.
A source told The Sun: “Floyd went mad after Conor said he would crush him and knock him out in 30 seconds, he’s obsessed with making Conor eat his words.
“Floyd is calling the shots. It’s strictly boxing and Conor will have to lose roughly 25lbs.
“It was agreed in principle on May 2, but Floyd wouldn’t reveal the identity of his opponent until last night when he told friends he’ll be fighting Conor.”
Mayweather has in recent weeks ramped up talk that the fight could take place.
He has gone on record saying he would only return for a nine-figure payday and filed patents for a 50th fight.
Meanwhile, McGregor earlier today teased fans with a mock-up poster for the clash.
