Tokyo Olympics LIVE RESULTS: Closing Ceremony ends Games, Price WINS boxing gold after Kenny makes history – latest

TEAM GB have added another two gold medals on the final day of the Tokyo Olympics to EQUAL their 65 medals from the London 2012 Games.

Cycling sensation Jason Kenny created history by winning the men's keirin for his SEVENTH Olympic gold, one more than Sir Chris Hoy.

While boxer Lauren Price produced a masterclass to win gold in the middleweight division by beating China's Li Qian.

It means Team GB have equalled their medal haul from the London Games on 65, and finished two short of their record total of 67 from Rio in 2016.

Paris awaits in 2024!

  • 15 LAPS TO GO

As it stands, Valente remains ahead in the event with 118 points, Japan's Yumi Kajihara is second with 110 points, Denmark's Amalie Dideriksen is third with 100 points.

Laura Kenny has picked up more points than anyone in this race from the sprints, currently 14, but it's not going to be enough to make the podium. She's currently in seventh spot.

  • 30 LAPS TO GO

Dideriksen and the Netherlands Kirsten Wild, who made a move at the halfway point, have been reined in.

Laura Kenny tries to get away in a pack, and picks up another five points in the latest sprint.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Ebtissam Ahmed crashes to the ground, and momentarily brings down the event leader, Jennifer Valente.

  • 50 LAPS TO GO

Laura Kenny picked up five points in the last sprint, which takes place every ten laps, but is in eighth position overall.

Meanwhile, Denmark's Amalie Dideriksen makes a move for gold by tearing away from the field. There are 20 points available for a lap gain.

The USA's Jennifer Valente remains in first place.

  • LAURA AWAY TO PROVE A POINT

They're off in the final event of the Women's Omnium, the points race.

Laura Kenny finds herself down the field in fifth place, but - as the name suggests - there are plenty of points available throughout the race's 80 laps.

It will take a special ride from Kenny to bring back another medal from here, but how could we ever write off this cycling couple?

  • GOLDEN MOMENT

Laura Kenny may be preparing to take part imminently in the points race of the Women's Omnium event, but she can't hide her smile as her husband makes his way to the winner's podium as Britain's most decorated Olympic champion.

Jason Kenny stands proud for the national anthem, and is then congratulated by his fellow medal winners, Mohd Azizulhasni Awang and Harri Lavreysen, who hoist the the Brit on to their shoulders. A lovely touch.

  • JASE ON THE CASE

"Jason Kenny is streaking away from the field here. Are we watching something really, really special?"

    Yes. Yes, we are.

The Kenny household is going to need a second mantelpiece at this point.

  • NO CATCHING KENNY

A seventh gold medal for Jason Kenny, who defends his title in the Men's Keirin.

His victory shouldn't be a surprise to anyone by now, but the manner of the win is as shocking as it is special.

The British cyclist takes advantage of a gap with three laps to go, and absolutely tears away from the pack. He absolutely blows his competitors away.

Nobody inside the velodrome can't quite believe what they're seeing but they should take it all in it and savour it. This is Olympic history.

  • SENSATIONAL!
JASON KENNY WINS GOLD FOR TEAM GB!

  • HERE WE GO!

Jason Kenny is off and away in the Men's Keirin...

    ....quite literally! Oh my word!

  • LAURA KENNY OUT

Huge shock in the elimination race, stage three of the Omnium has Laura Kenny has gone OUT and has finished in 13th place.

A disastrous finish for Kenny, whose hopes of a medal could be all but dashed.

  • KEIREN SEMIS

Jason Kenny is through to the final of the Keirin after finishing 1st in the semi-final.

Kenny looked back to his old self there in what was a brilliant sprint finish.

  • BOUNCE BACK

Laura Kenny with a brilliant tempo race, winning the second stage of the Omnium with seven points.

She's certainly in fighting mood, and now she finds herself in a much healthier position with two stages to go.

  • MEN'S KEIREN

Jason Kenny is through to the semi-finals of the men's Keiren after finishing second in the quarter-finals.

Next is the tempo race of the women's Omnium.

  • CRASH LANDING

Here's the moment things got dramatic at the velodrome in Tokyo. Thankfully the riders, including Kenny, are okay.

  • LAURA KENNY CRASHES

Drama already in the closing stages of the opening race of the omnium as multiple riders crash, including Kenny!

Jennifer Valente wins with Yumi Kajihara second.

  • CYCLING ACTION 🚴🏻‍♀️

Both Jason and Laura Kenny are in action over the next couple of hours, with the pair aiming for gold once again.

The women's scratch race is currently underway in the omnium, which Laura Kenny is looking to win for the third consecutive Olympics.

  • THIS MAN

Spectacular running from Eliud Kipchoge today.

  • KIPCHOGE WINS 🥇

    He's done it!

The marathon legend that is Eliud Kipchpge has won his second straight Olympic title and his fourth Games medal overall.

He made it easy in the end, winning the race by over 30 seconds.

  • OUT IN FORCE

Fans are lining the streets cheering all the runners on as they look to cross the line in the next 10 minutes.

    Kipchoge still in the lead.

  • EIGHT MILES LEFT

Defending champion, world-record holder Eliud Kipchoge is looking to really stamp his authority on the race.

He's still leading but just when will he look to make his move and create the gap he needs to feel comfortable toward the last couple of miles?

He's got his Kenyan team-mates right behind him, but Kipchoge is looking comfortable.

  • CHASING PACK

Team GB's Callum Hawkins is a part of the second group of runners behind the Kipchoge-led pack.

He's in 49th place while fellow Brits Ben Connor is in 88th and Chris Thompson is 96th.

  • KITATA PULLS UP 🏃‍♂️

Already a shock in the men's marathon on the final day of the Tokyo Olympics as Shura Kitata looks to have pulled up with cramp.

The Ethiopian was one of the favourites to win today's race, having won last year's London marathon.

Eliud Kipchoge still leads from the front, but one of his biggest threats looks to be out of action for now.

He still remains walking, but you've got to think that's his race over.

  • DALEY'S SEW TALENTED

Tom Daley enjoyed a phenomenal Tokyo 2020 with TWO medals including a gold in the 10m synchronised diving.

The Team GB star, 27, also won bronze in the individual event in what was his fourth Games after bursting onto the scene as 14-year-old at Beijing 2008.

But Daley has been turning heads not only for his impressive work in the pool, but also for his KNITTING.

The British ace has been spotted time and time again sitting in the stands working on his knitwear.

Daley even has his own Instagram account dedicated to his woollen delights - which has 1.2million followers.

And if we've learned anything, it's that he has a potential career waiting for him once he decides to hang up his trunks.

Most-notably, Daley perfectly recreated a Gucci dress for his friend, Sophie Lee.

The mini-dress goes for a staggering £1,750, but Daley made it from 'leftover yarn from a previous project'.

With over 42,000 likes, fans can't tell the difference between the original and the replica.

But that's not all, Daley has knitted things of all sizes and not just clothes.

  • THERE'S SOME BLING ABOUT MARI

Mariya Lasitskene's gold in the women's high jump put the Russian Olympic Committee back above Team GB in fourth place on the penultimate day.

The Brits have won 63 medals in total, compared to 65 at London 2012 and 67 at Rio.

  • ETHAN AND BLINDING

TEAM GB cyclist Ethan Hayter left teammate Matthew Walls in stitches after accidentally swearing live on the BBC.

The British duo scooped a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics following a stunning finish to leapfrog France in a thrilling Madison.

And Hayter understandably couldn't contain his excitement after holding the bronze medal position for much of the 200-lap race.

The 22-year-old dropped the f-bomb live on BBC in his post-race interview before quickly correcting himself as Walls cracked up laughing.

He said: "We sat out on the front to try and get a bit of a head start in the early sprints.

"But my legs started to go first, in the f**king, I mean flipping, first 100 laps or so were so hard.

"I started to suffer, then Matt started to suffer. But then we had a good run and finished with a flourish to almost win."
