The 6ft 9ins Icelandic giant grappled with the MMA fighter for two minutes but was in no shape to do so as he was preparing to compete in the Strongman competition.

The 32-year-old explained: "We grappled for like two minutes then it was finished.

"The whole video you see online is basically everything we did that day.

"Not at all (was I expecting it). I was not in shape for fighting at all. After those two minutes I was out of breath.

"I was just training for Strongman and was in no shape at all for grappling or doing anything like that."

Bjornsson initially planned to take a picture with the Irishman before their spontaneous wrestle - hence the reason he was in jeans.

He added: "It was funny because if you look at the video again, I’m wearing jeans.

“I’m basically just going in to get a picture, then somehow this grappling just happened out of nowhere."

And if was dressed appropriately and in shape for their scrap, Bjornson reckons their scrap would've been over a lot quicker than two minutes.

When previously asked how long McGregor would last against him properly, he said: "Maybe five[seconds]."

However, McGregor doesn't think it will be so easy for Bjornsson, who he folded up last time they met.

The Notorious said: "It was a lot of fun. That's a big man - 6ft 9in, 400 pounds. And I still folded him up."

The pair may get a chance to go it again sometime soon as McGregor believes he's ready to resume kicking - less than ten weeks after breaking his leg against Dustin Poirer in their UFC 264 trilogy fight.
