Southampton will be the tenth Premier League club to break their transfer record this summer when the deal is finalised

SOUTHAMPTON have agreed a club record fee of £21million for Ligue 1 club Lille's forward Sofiane Boufal.

SunSport reported last week Boufal would join the Premier League in January, but he is now expected to finalise his transfer tomorrow.

The 22-year-old Moroccan international has been told he will be allowed to leave Lille this summer after a spectacular breakthrough campaign that saw him score 11 times in his first full top-flight season.

Boufal has also been tracked by Chelsea, Tottenham and Watford but Southampton will be his final destination.

The forward is currently recuperating after injuring a knee in May and is not expected to play again until next month.

But new boss Claude Puel insisted to sign the talented player from Ligue 1, as he is reinforcing his attacking line before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.
