Mousa Dembele announces retirement aged 34 with ex-Tottenham star to hang up his boots at the end of 2022 season

FORMER Tottenham star Mousa Dembele has announced he will retire from football later this year.
The 34-year-old has just a year left to run on his contract and Dembele has revealed he has no plans to renew.
He released a saying: "Hi everyone, first of all I would like to thank everyone for the nice messages I have received.
"To cleap up, I haven't stopped yet. I still have a year left on my contract. But I can already share that I will stop after this year is finished. Thank you."
According to Belgian outlet Dembele rejected the offer of a new deal from Guangzhou.
Dembele joined Guangzhou in 2019 following seven years at Tottenham.
He first played in the Premier League for Fulham but his best years came under Mauricio Pochettino in North London.
The Belgian became a fan favourite at Spurs and many have paid tribute to Dembele following news of his retirement.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "Mousa Dembele was unplayable on his day. Watching him glide up the pitch in his pomp was a joy."
Another added: "Dembele was incredible for us… cannot get over just how good he was at times. Thank you & happy retirement."
And a third said: "One of the greatest players I’ve seen play live in the flesh, and my favourite to ever play in blue and white. Thank you Mousa Dembele."
Dembele made 249 appearances for Spurs, scoring 10 goals for the club in all competitions.
He also won 82 caps for Belgium with his last appearance coming in 2019.
