Just a day after he was born on January 9, Arsene Wenger's famous side beat Middlesbrough 4-1 at Highbury - with Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg among the goalscorers.

Should he get on, Awe will make his senior professional debut.

The England youth international has risen through the ranks with Arsenal and penned his first pro deal last year.

Awe is a centre-back, known for striding out of defence with the ball.

He has shared his time between Arsenal's Under-18s and U23s this season.

The versatile starlet has played six times in the U18 Prem, twice covering in midfield.

Awe also performed in the FA Youth Cup this term, but has graduated to the Gunners' PL2 side in recent weeks.

He made his fifth PL2 appearance of the season earlier this month, even marking it with a goal in a 3-1 win over Chelsea.

Awe was also part of the side that beat Chelsea's U23s in the Papa John's Trophy quarter-finals at Emirates Stadium last month, before he and his side were narrowly beaten 1-0 by League One Wigan in the semis.

He will wear the No75 shirt this evening, should he get on.
