But the pair have now been joined in the top three by team-mate Sadio Mane following his double against Leeds.

Mane also scored a brilliant over head kick against Norwich on Saturday and now has 11 Premier League goals this season, with one assist.

That means he has one less goal contribution than Jota, who has 12 goals.

So both have been outperformed by Salah, who boasts an incredible 19 goals and 10 assists - no player has matched the Egyptian in either area this season.

Jarrod Bowen's eight assists place him second with Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes rounding off the top three assist makers on six assists.

Fernandes is also the fifth-highest scorer in the Prem this season with nine goals - half last season's tally of 18.

But their lack of a recognised striker has contributed to Liverpool being the league's leading scorers this season with 70, seven more than second-place City.

No other club has managed more than 50 league goals this season with Chelsea next best on 49.

Mason Mount is their top scorer with seven but out on loan midfielder Conor Gallagher has scored eight at Crystal Palace.
