And Boehly is keen to get that sky-high pay packet off his books.

The report the Blues are so keen to get rid of the outcast midfielder they have even offered him to two of his former clubs - Aston Villa and Everton.

Barkley only managed six Prem appearances last season under Thomas Tuchel.

And he was close to returning to his boyhood club Everton in January on a loan deal.

The Liverpool-born star joined Everton’s youth set-up as an 11-year-old.

He made 179 appearances for the club before departing for the capital.

When Frank Lampard became manager at Stamford Bridge, Barkley's Blues career went south.

Following the capture of Kai Havertz, the Englishman was given the chance to play first team football at Villa Park.

He was loaned out to the Brum-based club, where he played 24 games throughout the 2020-21 campaign.

Since Tuchel took over, Barkley still hasn't been able to cement a place in the starting XI.

And The German coach did not exactly quash rumours of a departure back in January.

The Chelsea boss said: “We haven’t discussed a loan deal yet. It depends what Ross wants and what possibilities there are and what makes sense. Let’s see.

"There’s always a chance it is not like it is the FA Cup and here’s your chance.

"There’s always a chance to make it onto the pitch, especially with a lot of Covid and injury cases."
