Match of the Day commentator Jacqui Oatley calls police over ‘cut’ threats on Twitter
Officers traced the message but could not discover which household member was responsible

MATCH of the Day’s first female commentator Jacqui Oatley had to call in cops over threatening and abusive tweets.
The 41-year-old BBC presenter was first targeted by a man who said he would come to her home and “cut” her.
Officers traced the message, whose sender also tweeted “unmentionable” things — but could not discover which household member was responsible.
Jacqui, awarded an MBE in this year’s New Year honours, was later sent an abusive tweet by a referee who was still at school.
She said: “I decided, instead of ignoring it, I’d write to his school and speak to someone in the refereeing department at the FA.
“I just wanted him to be made aware of his actions and how they could impact on his future career.”
The sixth-former apologised but said his Twitter account was hacked.

Oatley, who became the BBC 1 programme’s first woman commentator in 2007, opened up about the online abuse at the end of Women’s Sport Week.
She said “When they tell me to get back in the kitchen I tell them to get back to 1936.
“Ideally, in 10 years’ time, we won’t have Women’s Sports Week and the results will just be incorporated into other coverage. But of course, Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
