England are looking to retain the trophy that they dramatically won on home soil in 2019.

Stokes, who came in at fourth in the batting order helped England arrest a sluggish start.

The batsman was in a hurry to reach his century as he achieved the ton off just 76 balls.

He hit a total of 15 fours and nine sixes on his way to achieving the record 182 score.

That came off the back of facing just 124 balls.

Stokes' brilliant performance came after England's opener Jonny Bairstow got out for a golden duck off the very first ball of the day.

Dawid Malan fared better as he recorded 96 runs before being caught by Tom Latham off a Trent Boult ball.

But Joe Root scored just four runs before Stokes came in.

England were all out for 368 after 48 overs with New Zealand never looking close, stumbling to 187 all out.

Jos Buttler's team now lead the four-match series 2-1.
