Manchester United 0 West Brom 0: Jose Mourinho blasts hapless strikers as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata are missed

Marcus Rashford, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial came under fire following bore draw

JOSE MOURINHO blasted his front line as Manchester United drew a blank and another game.

The goalless draw with West Brom was their eighth draw at home in the league this season and without their top two scorers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata they were toothless up front.

And he has warned them they need more consistency in their play if they want to survive at a top club like United

Mourinho said: “You see how many goals our guys score. Lingard, Rashford, Mkhitaryan Martial, see how many goals they score

“Zlatan and Mata are the one with more goals

“We are not consistent, we miss easy chances.

“We have moments when we push but then a couple of players disappear and there are 10 minutes when you don't see them and you see always the same people always the same guys in front of the train pulling the train.”

Lingard, Martial, Mkhitaryan and Rashford have just ten league goals between them compared to Ibra’s 15.

All in while Ibra has 26 and Mata 10 Rashford, Martial and Mkhitaryan have seven each and Lingard five.

Now he has warned them to up their game.

He said: “In football especially in teams that want to win things you need consistency in the individuals.

“In some others clubs and some teams where you play for top ten you play a player with talent who is always welcome even if that talent is not consistent, even if that talent is one day yes, one day no, in these teams at this level you need to be consistent.

“Today for 90 minutes Valencia was consistent, Ashley Young was consistent, Marcos Rojo was consistent, Eric Bailly was consistent, Fellaini was consistent, Carrick was consistent and the other ones were not consistent.

“The other ones were a flash of talent, a glimpse of talent, almost goal and we need to kill opponents and this is deja vu all season.

“So it's disappointing yes because it's one more draw it's an amazing unbeaten run, 19 matches in the modern Premier League is amazing, is fantastic but too many draws at home because some draws away from home are very acceptable, positive, you can deal with it but too many draws at home.”

For Tony Pulis it was another positive performance after their 3-1 win over Arsenal before the international break, as they aim for a top ten finish

Pulis said: “We played similarly to our game against Arsenal but against them once we got the ball we got the first pass off and had a lot of opportunities.

“Here we kept giving the ball back to Manchester United and that added to the pressure.

“But they worked really hard. How can I criticise them when they worked so hard as a group?”
