Players Championship snooker 2025 LIVE RESULTS: Kyren Wilson wins DRAMATIC decider to hold off late Judd Trump comeback

KYREN WILSON earned the narrowest of victories against big rival Judd Trump to win the Players Championship in Telford!
Reigning world champion Wilson and Trump were level at 4-4 at the end of the afternoon session.
Wilson then turned on the pressure in the evening session - taking leads of 8-5 and 9-7.
But Trump is the world No 1 for a reason and forced a DECIDING frame with a brilliant century.
Both players then had chances to finish off the match and take the win but it was Wilson who held his nerve for longer to seal a dramatic Players Championship 2025 title and £150,000 of prize money.

The Ace in the Park has earned a remarkable £1,854,200 so far this season.
That's more than double Mark Selby in third, who has pocketed £738,000.
Trump's ping pong claim
It took 19 frames to find a winner between Judd Trump and Kyren Wilson.
But it was the World No. 1 left disappointed - and he took aim at the venue's selection of cue ball.
Trump blasted: "It was tricky. It was tricky for both of us.
"The ball was very light and it was taking off like a ping-pong ball. It was a bit strange."

It was a profitable night for Kyren Wilson in Telford.

World at their feet
Kyren Wilson is gunning for Judd Trump in the World Championship after his epic win at the Players'.
Speaking after the 10-9 victory, Wilson said: "I feel like it's a good, healthy rivalry, it's just a shame we couldn't peak like we have done all week.
"Any time you beat somebody like Judd, he's so far ahead of me in ranking titles I've got to try and make the most of these ones when I get a chance.
"We're a couple away now from the World Championship. It gives me a bit of confidence going into that."

Judd Trump was not impressed after his dramatic loss last night.
The Ace in the Pack revealed both he and Wilson had some trouble with the "ping-pong balls" during their epic final.
Trump told ITV: "The balls were playing a bit tricky, it wasn’t like the rest of the tournament where I was able to play free-flowing.
"I don’t know what the difference was today. It was very, very strange and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that before in a tournament.
"It was a good tournament and I’ll look forward to the next tournament."

Wil to win
It was another record-breaking night for Kyren Wilson on Sunday.
His 10-9 win over Judd Trump takes him level with Jimmy White on ten ranking titles.
Wilson said: "It was mentioned this week that if I won, I would go level with the legend Jimmy White on 10 ranking titles.
"For me growing up, watching a legend like Jimmy, to be level with him is a dream come true."

So, that's Wilson's 10th ranking title.
Five of those have come courtesy of beating Judd Trump in a final.
He's won five out of six finals against Trump, which is some record.
This is some rivalry.
Wilson on their rivalry
Judd hit the nail on the head. I feel like it's a good, healthy rivalry, it's just a shame we couldn't peak like we have done all week.
"Any time you beat somebody like Judd, he's so far ahead of me in ranking titles I've got to try and make the most of these ones when I get a chance.
"We're a couple away now from the World Championship. It gives me a bit of confidence going into that."
Wilson on his win
Every credit to Judd for speaking so well, he's just shown what a class act Judd is.
"It's so special to lift trophies. It was mentioned this week that if I won, I would go level with the legend Jimmy White on 10 ranking titles. For me growing up, watching a legend like Jimmy, to be level with him is a dream come true."
Trump reacts
Judd Trump reveals more about the white ball and why it was changed during the final:
"It was a difficult game, it wasn't like the rest of the tournament.
"The white was just very light, it was kind of taking off like a ping-pong ball. I thought it was going to be a brilliant standard, and it kind of bogged us both down a little bit.
"I had my chance, but well done to Kyren and his family. I look forward to the next one."
Trump 9-10 Wilson
It was a tense decider!
Both players could feel the edginess in the room, and missed routine shots.
Trump then went for a long one, which didn't go and left the table open for Wilson to clean up.
And didn't he do just that!
Wilson wins the Players Championship in sensational style!
Trump 9-9 Wilson
You just knew it!
Trump has forced a decider in the most amazing way - a century break.
It's his 92nd of the season, and the first of the final.
Trump 8-9 Wilson
Insane!
That was an 8-minute frame, the speed of potting was incredible.
Trump pulls another back. This is going to the wire, as predicted.
Not quite a ton break from Trump, but plus 70 isn't something to sniff at at this stage.
Trump 7-9 Wilson
Wilson missed a long one, but Judd couldn't capitalise.
He, too, missed a difficult pot and opened a chance for Wilson.
Trump returned, but made a mistake by leaving one over the pocket, which Wilson punished him for.
The world champion is within one.
Trump 7-8 Wilson
There's fire still left in Trump, don't ever count him out!
He's back within one, after Wilson left him one red on.
Trump made no mistake, and is turning up the heat on Wilson.
Trump 6-8 Wilson
Is Trump now feeling the pressure and is this game getting away from him?
A terrible miss on the black, and he let Wilson in. You can't do that with Wilson in this form.
But Wilson then provides a miss of his own to allow Judd to clean up.
We've got a game on again.
Trump 5-8 Wilson
Disaster struck for Trump, who raced onto 65, before running out of position and missing a red.
That brought Wilson to the table, who punished his opponent sensationally.
He needed to sink pink and black, but there was no worry there. Not the way he's potting.
Trump 5-7 Wilson
Is this Wilson closing in on the title?
He's won three frames on the bounce now, with Judd missing a few.
Three more and Wilson's the champ.
