Everton ban 62-year-old fan from new stadium and revoke membership for stealing £12.75 worth of chicken strips

EVERTON have banned a fan from the club's new stadium after they stole £12.75 worth of chicken strips.
The 62-year-old supporter had filmed himself taking food and drink without paying at the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

The video shows his food being brought to the counter before the fan, then he asked the staff for a coffee.
As the server went back to the kitchen, the man filming then took his food without paying while saying "adios amigo".
The incident occurred during an inaugural test event at the club's new stadium back in February.
The event saw 10,000 supporters visit the new venue to watch Everton play Wigan Athletic in an under-18s friendly match.

The supporter then bragged about the theft as he said: "Well, the first man to officially do a Toby [slang word for theft] at Bramley-Moore Dock."
The fan has now been banned from the stadium and has had his club membership revoked.
The man from the Rainhill area had also agreed to pay £12.75 as a donation to the club's charity.
Everton released a statement in which it explained that the action was met with zero tolerance.

A spokesperson said via the Liverpool Echo: "The matter was referred to Merseyside Police and the individual has been dealt with by means of an out-of-court disposal.
"As part of this resolution, he has agreed to make a donation equivalent to the cost of the stolen items (£12.75) to Everton in the Community.
"In line with the club’s zero-tolerance approach to such behaviour, the individual has also been issued with an indefinite ban from Everton Football Club and his seasonal membership has been revoked."
The Toffees will be playing at the new ground from the start of next season after saying farewell to Goodison Park at the end of the current campaign.

The new 53,000-capacity stadium venue has cost upwards of £802.1million.
Club chiefs have spent £802,121,353 according to new figures covering the year to June 30, 2024.
Yet this bill will grow as the club are “continuing negotiations to secure the next stage of funding”.
Everton took out two new loans in February with US firms Aramark Limited and Glas Trust Corporation.
The original estimate for the stadium — which has taken four years to build — was £500m.
