LUKE LITTLER won YET ANOTHER Premier League night in Sheffield to seal a brilliant campaign as we head into the grand final next week!

Nathan Aspinall booked his in the final four at the O2 next week by downing Michael van Gerwen 6-2 earlier tonight.

Littler beat Stephen Bunting, Aspinall and Luke Humphries to win a record-extending SIXTH night and finish top of the group stage with a record breaking 45 points.

Gerwyn Price is the other player that will be joining Littler, Aspinall and Humphries for a massive night at the O2 next Thursday.

  • Luke Littler 5-1 Stephen Bunting

Littler breaks and is still perfect on his doubles!

Littler leaves 40 with Bunting over 100 behind him and comes back needing one dart to take it.

  • Luke Littler 4-1 Stephen Bunting

An 11-dart hold of throw this time - and Littler is still 100% on his doubles!

Bunting isn't on a finish when Littler comes back for 46 and he needs two darts to pin it.

  • Luke Littler 3-1 Stephen Bunting

Thankfully I'm wrong! Bunting is on the board in the match!

He's again made to work for it, but this time leaves 46 and gets first go at it, checking it out in three darts with Littler on his tail again.

  • Luke Littler 3-0 Stephen Bunting

    I fear a whitewash here.

Bunting hits 180 against the throw in his opener to always be ahead in the leg, and does so in leaving 36 with his final visit.

On 107, Littler hits T5 first to leave 92, before T20 - D16 to again clinch the frame from under Bunting's nose.

  • Luke Littler 2-0 Stephen Bunting

    Littler breaks!

Bunting on 133 has to watch Littler before him leave himself 101.

Bunting throws in a dreaded 26 at the wrong time before Littler comes back with 20 - T17 - D15 to nick the frame.

  • Luke Littler 1-0 Stephen Bunting

    Ridiculous.

A 180 during the leg has Littler well clear of Bunting before leaving himself 96.

Bunting is on 241 when handing back to Littler, who comes back for 20 - D19 - D19. A double-double finish in leg one. Just silly.

  • Luke Littler 0-0 Stephen Bunting

And it'll be Littler to throw first - GAME ON!

  • What a noise!

An incredible reception for the two players, especially Stephen Bunting.

A few boos for Luke Littler to start with before his song wins the crowd over and some huge cheers when he reaches the stage.

Plenty to play for for both men here.

  • In place

The players will shortly be welcomed out for a big night of Premier League darts.

Stephen Bunting is on the walkway!

  • If anyone can, MVG can

On the big match-up to come, Mardle told Sky Sports: "Nathan has definitely been a bigger scorer than Van Gerwen. MVG has to be somewhere near his best to win a night.

"He doesn't seem to take out these big finishes like he used to.

"If anyone can pull this off that's not a Luke or Luke, it's Michael. I've never doubted him in my life, apart from tonight."

  • Feeling blue

  • Missed night

Will that missed night in Berlin come back to bite Michael van Gerwen?

Wayne Mardle told Sky Sports: "He may win tonight and all of a sudden missing that night may not matter. He may have lost the game in Berlin but we don't want to play on his mind.

"He's just not been good enough often enough. Can he win tonight? Of course he can. I just think it will go south for him."

  • Nightly winner

If Michael van Gerwen wants to play at the 02 next week, he has to overcome some pretty sizeable odds to win tonight.

As has been the case for 15 weeks, Luke Littler is the short priced favourite to win the night.

MVG is only fourth favourite - an 8/1 chance!

    • Luke Littler - 5/4
    • Luke Humphries - 7/2
    • Gerwyn Price - 15/2
    • Michael van Gerwen - 8/1
    • Nathan Aspinall - 10/1
    • Chris Dobey - 12/1
    • Rob Cross - 12/1
    • Stephen Bunting - 16/1

  • How it looks

  • The unlucky three

Stephen Bunting, Rob Cross and Chris Dobey will all end their season tonight, regardless of their results.

For Bunting and Dobey, they will be especially annoyed, as they both have nightly wins, while Michael van Gerwen - who could qualify - does not.

Rob Cross won't walk away from this season empty handed, he will be going home with 18ct solid gold darts, worth £30,000, after hitting a nine-darter against Luke Humphries.

Bunting will play Littler, Dobey will play Price and Cross will play Humphries.

  • Match odds

The odds for tonight's four quarter final matches.

Littler, Humphries and Price strong fancies in their matches.

And the big one of the night? The bookies can't split them!

    Quarter final odds from

    • Luke Littler (1/4) vs Stephen Bunting (3/1)
    • Nathan Aspinall (1/1) vs Michael van Gerwen (4/5)
    • Luke Humphries (4/9) vs Rob Cross (7/4)
    • Gerwyn Price (8/11) vs Chris Dobey (11/10)

  • See you there

Three players will be at the O2 next week, with qualification already confirmed.

Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price are all going to the capital next week.

Littler has also already confirmed his place at the top of the rankings, with Humphries confirmed second.

Price is qualified, but if Aspinall out performs him, or Van Gerwen win the night, and he picks up no points, then Price will finish fourth.

  • Who will make it?

A HUGE fixture comes live second tonight.

Nathan Aspinall takes on Michael van Gerwen in the second match of the night.

For Aspinall, a win will suffice, but a loss could also see him at the O2 next week.

For Michael van Gerwen, he needs to pick up five points and win the night, or else his season will end tonight.

  • League table ahead on the penultimate night

Here is how we're looking with one week of action to go...

    1. Luke Littler (Q)...40
    2. Luke Humphries (Q)...31
    3. Gerwyn Price (Q)...24
    4. Nathan Aspinall...24

  • The fixtures tonight

As it is a league table week, the fixtures tonight are determined upon where players are in the table.

    • Luke Littler vs Stephen Bunting
    • Nathan Aspinall vs Michael van Gerwen
    • Luke Humphries vs Rob Cross
    • Gerwyn Price vs Chris Dobey
  • The penultimate night of Premier League Darts

Welcome to SunSport's coverage of the penultimate night of Premier League Darts from Sheffield.

Six of the eight now their fates, but there is one spot left at the O2 next week.

Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price will be there, while Stephen Bunting, Chris Dobey and Rob Cross know they won't be.

Nathan Aspinall and Michael van Gerwen are battling for the final spot, and face each other TONIGHT!

Aspinall just needs two points, while MvG needs to win the entire night to make it.

Can the Green Machine lock in and make it, or will The Asp be the one who is in London next week?
