PGA Championship 2025 LIVE RESULT: Scottie Scheffler WINS third major title with a commanding FIVE shot victory

SCOTTIE Scheffler WON the PGA Championship to pick up a third major of his career.

Scottie Scheffler is now half way to the golf Grand Slam, and won the tournament with a FIVE shot victory over Bryson DeChambeau and Davis Riley.

Jon Rahm made a daring comeback in the final round, and was level with Scheffler at one point, but the Spanish player was unable to keep his momentum going throughout the entire round.

Bryson DeChambeau finished well on the final day, and shared second place with Davis Riley.

  • Hole 1: Davis Riley (-6), JT Poston (-6)

Bogeys for both players in the penultimate group as they both drop a further shot off Scheffler at the top.

  • Hole 4: Tony Finau (-4), Bryson DeChambeau (-5)

Finau with a dropped shot on the third hole to move to -4.

Four successive pars to start for DeChambeau, badly let down by his irons again.

The par 3 he just played, he ended up 20 yards short of the green, letting out an: "Are you kidding me??"

He pitched to 3ft and rolled in the par putt.

  • Hole 1: Scottie Scheffler (-11), Alex Noren (-8)

Scheffler receives a great reception when arriving on the tee.

It's even better as he smashes a drive down the right side of the fairway, cutting off some of the corner.

Noren with a good drive of his own.

  • Hole 1: Jon Rahm (-5), Si Woo Kim (-5)

Rahm with an almost identical hole to that of Bryson a short time ago.

He pulls his approach shot well left, gets fortunate with the lie and has a good angle for a pitch up the hill. It ends up 4ft from the pin and he can tap in for par.

Si Woo Kim found the bunker with his second and can't get up and down, dropping a shot on the first.

  • PGA Championship leaderboard

This is how we look with Jon Rahm and Si Woo Kim on the first green.

Two more groups left to tee off.

  • Hole 2: Tony Finau (-5), Bryson DeChambeau (-5)

A pair of 4s again for this pairing as they both hit par in different ways.

Finau's approach is well short and off the front of the green, before a bump and run to 4ft and knocks it in.

DeChambeau with a flick of a wedge and will have hoped to be closer than the 15ft he left himself. A shocker of a putt sees him leave it short by 3ft and manages to save par.

Not the start he wanted as he returns to high-fiving fans on his walk to the third.

You do wonder if he regrets having started the 'man of the people' mantra.

  • Seeya pal!

Rory McIlroy is packing his car in the car park but stops to speak to Jon Rahm who was making his way back in, with a tee time of round about now.

Sore one that, but a pat on the back of good luck from McIlroy for his Ryder Cup chum.

  • Hole 1: Tony Finau (-5), Bryson DeChambeau (-5)

Pars for both players on the first.

DeChambeau wild with his approach shot again, missing the green by about 15 yards left, though luck is on his side as he finds just the first cut.

He pitches from there for 4ft and rolls in the par putt.

  • Hole 7: Ben Griffin (-6)

Ben Griffin now four-under through seven holes after taking advantage of the par 5, 7th!

Another birdie for him as he moves into a tie for fifth now and he's the one making the early run at the leader.

  • Ball's deep

Twice in four holes Rory McIlroy found the water.

Now the TV cameras have picked up one volunteer who his on the embankment where Rory's ball went, waited for the green to clear and stuck his hand well into the water to reclaim it.

He's quickly up on his feet, popping the ball in his pocket and nipping back up onto dry land.

It might well be his last time volunteering...

  • Hole 1: Tony Finau (-5), Bryson DeChambeau (-5)

The American pair tee off with a huge noise for Bryson before and after his bomb of a drive.

Perfectly in the middle of the fairway, and a fair way down it too!

Splits that in two and he's up and running on Championship Sunday.

  • FINISHED: Rory McIlroy (+3)

Tap-in par for Rory McIlroy who finishes off his competition at three over par.

Disappointing weekend all-in-all for the Masters champion, brought back down to earth with a slight bump.

At least heading into the next Major, he won't have to continually speak about Augusta!

No calendar grand slam this time.

  • Live leaderboard

Slowly creeping up to see the big hitters come into play.

Griffin has since moved to -5, with Matt Fitzpatrick up and running.

Bryson DeChambeau not far away from his opening tee shot.

  • Hole 17: Rory McIlroy (+3)

Rory is back over par for the day as his rollercoaster round continues until the very end.

This time he's short off the par 3 tee and drops in the water at the front of the green.

His second time in four holes in the drink and he gets up-and-down from the drop zone to limit the damage.

  • Hole 5: Ben Griffin (-5)

Griffin with his third birdie in the first five holes as he continues making his move.

This time carding a three on the par 4 to move -3 for the day and -5 for the week - that's into the top 10 as things stand!

  • Scottie on the range

Scottie Scheffler makes his way to the putting green as he leaves his gym warm-up to get a club in his hands.

He sinks his first 5ft putt of his warm-up on these greens. So we might as well call it here and now....

  • Hole 4: Ben Griffin (-4)

Ben Griffin making an early play as he moves to -4 for his tournament

A recent winner at the Zurich Classic and now moving up the leaderboard early doors as he birdies two of the first four.

This birdie on the 4th coming from the second cut green-side of the par 3 and he finds the middle of the cup.

  • FINISHED Tommy Fleetwood (+2), Collin Morikawa (+4)

Fleetwood's birdie-bogey-par finish sees him finish -1 for the day and ends this tournament at +2.

Another OK tournament for the Englishman who will be hoping to make a better fist of things at The Open as he chases that maiden Major.

Morikawa went +2 in the final four holes to end the day +1 for his round.

  • Hole 16: Rory McIlroy (+2)

And that birdie is followed by a par on the 16th to keep him at three birdies and three bogeys for the day.

  • Hole 15: Rory McIlroy (+2)

Bounce-back birdie for McIlroy on the 15th hole as he cards a 4 on the par 5.

  • Hole 7: Joaquin Niemann (-3)

Niemann joins those at -3 after an EAGLE on the 7th hole!

A terrific three for him to move him -2 for the day.

  • Live leaderboard

Still nobody out there that'll trouble the top end of the leaderboard.

But the players at -3 are starting to tee off, joined at the top of the 'live on the course' leaderboard by Sam Burns and Xander Schauffele.

Ben Griffin and Taylor Pendrith are both -1 today after two holes to sit on -3 for the tournament too.

  • Hole 14: Rory McIlroy (+3)

Bogey for McIlroy and his chances of a push to the top 20 is over.

He finds the water with his tee shot which is arrowed near the green.

He then can't get up-and-down from there and has to settle for a bogey to move back to +3.

  • Scottie's here

Pictures from the TV crews have picked up Scottie Scheffler with earphones in, gliding around the players area.

7.40 his tee-time but what will his lead be come that time?
