Beat the boss

President Trump shaves Vince to the Stone Cold Stunner: Ten times WWE owner Vince McMahon was brutally beat up

After Kevin Owens laid the SmackDown on the boss this week and made him bleed, so here are the other times big Vince has put his body on the line for the company

KEVIN Owens brutally attacked Vince McMahon on SmackDown, even busting open the boss with a savage headbutt.

But whether Vince is a babyface or heel, one thing’s certain – fans love seeing the WWE chairman take a beating. Here are 10 of the best.

HBK trashes the chairman

WrestleMania 22 – April 2, 2006

Shawn Michaels has since claimed this match was like having the “night off” – all he had to was clobber Vince with his trademark moves in this no holds barred match.

And with ladders, tables, and chairs brought into the action, the fans lapped it up.

The highlight came as Shawn stuffed Vince into a trashcan and then onto a table – with Shawn then dropping an elbow from the top of the ladder.

Vince got some revenge at the next PPV when he teamed with Shane to defeat Shawn and “God”. Yes, really.

Orton’s Punt

Raw – January 29, 2009

On the road to WrestleMania 25, Randy Orton was at his most cold-blooded and unpredictable – and set about assaulting the entire McMahon clan one-by-one.

It started with Vince smugly saying if it wasn’t for his own business genius, Randy’s father would be a nobody and Randy himself would probably be a gym teacher.

(Remember, Vince is supposed to be the good guy here.)

Then after Vince threatened to fire Randy, The Viper struck – and delivered his trademark punt to the boss’s head.

The Beer Bath

Not a beating exactly, but one of the most brilliantly hilariously humiliating moments in Mr MacMahon’s entire career.

Just six nights before WrestleMania 15, Stone Cold drove a beer truck to ringside and soaked Vince, Shane, and The Rock is one of the all-time great Raw segments.

McMahon swimming in the beer like a pantomime villain is still some of best selling to ever happen in a WWE ring.

The president trumps the boss

WrestleMania 23 – April 1, 2007

Even the President of the United States has laid in a few shots on Vinnie Mac during their high-profile “Battle of the Billionaires” at WrestleMania 23.

The match had Donald Trump and Vince in the respective corners of Bobby Lashley and Umaga – with the loser having their head shaved.

Trump leapt on Vince mid-match to lay in some of the worst punches in wrestling history (which is saying something).

Vince would naturally end up having his head shaved – not to mention receiving a Stone Cold Stunner – after Umaga lost the match.

Armageddon for daddy dearest

Vince battled Triple H in a no holds barred match, after Trips married Stephanie at a drive-thru chapel while she was unconscious.

Vince managed to give as good as he got at first, but eventually found himself on the wrong end of Triple H’s sledgehammer.

The biggest blow was yet to come though – Steph turned on her old man and revealed she’d been plotting against Vince the whole time.

The Family Feud

The McMahon in-fighting was still going on over a year later (let’s be honest, it’s still going on now – over 15 years later), leading to an epic Vince v Shane street fight.

And it really wasn’t Vince’s night.

He copped a slap from his mistress Trish Stratus, received a kick to McMahon family jewels from wife Linda, and then a trashcan to face with Shane’s coast-to-coast dropkick.

Not just an epic beating, it’s a highlight of the greatest ever ‘Mania.

His first Stone Cold Stunner

During his epic feud with Steve Austin, Vince McMahan was stunnered more times than anyone – but you never forget your first.

Austin had been on the rampage all year, dropping officials such as Sgt Slaughter and Jim Ross with his patented move.

Frustrated with being unable to compete due to his legit broken neck, Austin finally struck the boss – before being carted off by police.

It’s a classic moment and worth re-watching just for Vince selling the move like a sack of a potatoes.

Rage in a cage

St Valentine’s Day Massacre – February 14, 1999

At the other end of their feud, Stone Cold finally got his hands on McMahon in a proper match – and this time locked inside a steel cage.

McMahon barely gets a shot in as Austin gives him the beating of a lifetime, then sends Vince flying off the cage and crashing into a table below.

Thankfully for Vince, the Big Show would make his debut – emerging from beneath the ring to save the chairman from any more punishment.

The Montreal knockout

It was only one punch, but it was 100% real – and the deserving payback for the most scandalous moment in wrestling history.

Immortalised as the “Montreal Screwjob”, Vince rang the bell during Bret Hart v Shawn Michaels – declaring HBK the winner and screwing Bret out of the title on live PPV.

Bret spat in Vince’s face at ringside and punched him out backstage. Vince would appear on Raw for his infamous “Bret screwed Bret” interview sporting a black eye.

But it was arguably the smartest business decision Vince ever made. He turned him into wrestling’s biggest villain and kick-started the hugely successful Attitude Era.

The bedpan of doom

Raw – October 5, 1998

While his hospital resting a broken foot, McMahon received a surprise visitor – Stone Cold Steve Austin disguised as doctor.

Austin jumped the boss and hammered him with punches, with a couple to his foot for good measure (McMahon’s OTT selling is a joy to watch).

He cracked Vince on the skull with a bedpan – a perfectly executed “CLANG!” that’s still the funniest and most satisfying noise ever heard on WWE TV.

Stone Cold then fried McMahon with the defibrillators and attempted to give him an enema.

It’s one of the outrageous and inventive moments that made then Attitude Era so brilliant – and the kind of beating fans loved seeing McMahon receive each week.
