WWE Raw results: The Shield reunite to fight off attacks from Braun Strowman and Sheamus & Cesaro

Mickie James secured her shot at the WWE women's title, Bray Wyett teased Sister Abigail's arrival and Kalisto joined the cruiserweight division

THIS weekend the superstars of SmackDown battle it out in Hell in a Cell, but over on Raw the next big pay-per- view is TLC – which promises to be just as destructive.

Here are five things we learnt from Raw last night.

It was a bad night for Rollins and Ambrose

On a night when we thought we’d see a full-blown Shield reunion, Braun Strowman destroyed Seth Rollins one-on- one.

Braun got the win with his huge power slam – then smashed The Architect with another after the match.

The Monster Among Men went for a third, until Dean Ambrose came to make the save.

But Strowman was too powerful for both and left the tag champs lying in the ring – which prompted Sheamus and Cesaro to hit the ring and take advantage.

The Bar rubbed salt took hit Ambrose and Rollins with a Neutralizer and Brogue Kick.

Mickie James will get a shot at the Women’s Championship

The feud between Alexa Bliss and Mickie James continued, which started with Bliss making fun of James’ age (38 – hardly Mae Young territory).

James picked up a DQ win over Bliss’ monstrous pal Nia Jax when Bliss interfered, then laid out the champ with a kick post-match.

Raw GM Kurt Angle then gave Mickie James a shot at Bliss’ title at TLC

Nia Jax looked none too happy with Bliss (which could mean another match between Bliss and Jax later down the line).

Raw GM Kurt Angle then gave Mickie James a shot at Bliss’ title at TLC.

This has ‘stop-gap feud’ written all over it, with the women’s division killing time while it waits for the arrival of Asuka.

Sister Abigail is alive

Finn Balor hit the ring to cut a promo on his never ending feud with Bray Wyatt – but Wyatt predictably appeared on the big screen.

Wyatt said Balor had lied to him: Balor doesn’t paint his skin to become a demon, he peels his skin off to reveal the demon beneath (whatever that means).

Bray then said Sister Abigail was alive and promised to introduce Finn to her – before some camera trickery transformed Bray into the shadowy image of Abigail.

This Sister Abigail reveal is two years beyond anyone caring, but could just about save this interminable storyline and make one last match between them worth watching.

Kalisto has joined the Cruiserweight Division (er, really?)

Enzo came out to address the epic beating he took from the rest of the cruiserweight division.

He claimed he had a clause in his contract that says anyone who attacked him last week is banned from challenging him for his title – and if they do it again, they’ll be fired. (He’s a finer legal mind than he looks, clearly.)

So Kurt Angle came out to announce his latest signee to the cruiserweight division – Kalisto.

That has to be the least exciting debut/return/surprise entrance in the history of WWE.

Kalisto hit Enzo with the Salida del Sol to set himself as the challenger to the Cruiserweight Championship.

The Bar targeted Roman Reigns

Turns out, it was better news for The Shield reunion than we thought – well, sort of.

After the Miztourage destroyed Roman Reigns last week, Reigns earned himself a shot at Miz’s IC belt last night.

He laid out Miztrourage members Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas early on – but Sheamus and Cesaro appeared later in the match to attack Reigns for the DQ.

The trio hit Reigns with a Neutralizer, Brogue Kick, Miz’s Skull Crushing Finale, and Shield-style triple power bomb.

Someone in WWE must have read Sun Sport’s Raw report last week, which claimed it would be waste reuniting the Shield against Miz and his jobber cronies.

Because now it looks like the Shield will reunite to battle Miz, Sheamus, and Cesaro at TLC – a more exciting feud by a long way.

Raw finished with Reigns backstage, joined briefly by Ambrose and Rollins either side. Will they finally get back in the ring together on Raw next week?
