RONNIE O’SULLIVAN won the English Open last night — after forgetting his cue!
The Rocket rocked up for last night’s final having left the tools of his trade in his hotel.
A pal made a 40-minute dash to retrieve it and arrived back at Barnsley’s Metrodome with just minutes to spare — saving O’Sullivan the embarrassment of being docked a frame.
Not that it would have mattered as the five-time world champ went on to batter Kyren Wilson 9-2 after reeling off four century breaks.
As well as pocketing £70,000 in winnings and a 29th ranking title, O’Sullivan has given himself a shot at a £1million bonus.
To do that he must win the other Home Nations events in Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff.

O’Sullivan, 41, said: "It’s great to win another ranking title.
"I’m my own worst critic at times but it was very, very good today. I will keep driving myself to reach a higher level.
"You don't play that well unless you feel you have to," he added.
"That was as good as I could play amongst the balls. I made some really good breaks, the most important one was at 6-2.
"I was crafting breaks today, but there's still room for improvement on certain shots."
O'Sullivan was mightily impressed with his opponent - predicting a world title for the 25-year-old soon.
"He will undoubtedly be a world champion," O'Sullivan said of Wilson.
"He's the man of the future and I'm just enjoying trying to hold on to him."
