ANTHONY JOSHUA was sent a sickening warning of Deontay Wilder’s brutal power after the American destroyed former WBC world champion Bermane Stiverne in one round.
The English IBF and WBA king laboured to a controversial 10th round win over Carlos Takam in Cardiff last weekend and happily discussed unifying the heavyweight division with Wilder’s belt in 2018.
But the Bronze Bomber fired back in stunning fashion by smashing the 39-year-old Canadian into next week with three knockdowns inside the opening three minutes.
Stiverne stepped in to take the fight at late notice after serial cheat Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz failed another drugs test.
But he was a bloated shadow of his former self and was rescued from a serious assault after meeting the canvas three times in rapid succession.
After delivering a very physical message to AJ, Wilder used his tongue to demand the Brit puts his belts on the line for a unification tear-up.
The champ said: “I have been waiting on that fight for a long time, me versus AJ, I declare war on you AJ.
“I have been waiting a long time, I know I am the best. Are you ready for the test?”

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn wants Wilder to fight the other heavyweight in his stable, Dillian Whyte.
But Wilder watched the Brixton brawler stink out The Principality stadium with a tedious points win over Viking stiff Robert Helenius and is not interested in lowering his standards.
Wilder said: “A king doesn’t chase a peasant. Kings chase other kings.
“They are trying to give me a peasant in Dillian Whyte.
“I want Joshua, no more ducking, hiding and dodging. Let’s make it happen.
“My belt says heavyweight champion of the world, the difference is they want to stay in their safe heaven.
“I am ready to go anywhere in the world.”
