Ashes 2017: Five moments from day three as Craig Overton top scores at No9 whilst Chris Woakes finally arrives on tour
It was a topsy-turvy day in Adelaide as England produced a late rally with the ball to keep their slim chances of victory alive

ENGLAND put in a late rally with the ball at the Adelaide Oval to keep their slim hopes of winning the second Ashes Test alive.
After a horror show in the first two sessions of the day - which saw the tourists reduced to 227 all out - Jimmy Anderson and Chris Woakes turned on the style under the lights to have Australia 52-4 at stumps.
Here are five key moments from a topsy-turvy day three.
Captain sensible?
JOE ROOT knew his side needed a solid start if they were going to have any chance of batting out the day and keeping the Test alive.
James Vince was back in the hutch after just three overs - bringing the England captain to the crease.
But instead of playing himself in, Root fell into the Aussie trap and flung himself at a wide one, sending a simple catch to third slip.
Disaster.
D.R.YES
AFTER a torrid day yesterday in the field, England deserved some luck with the DRS system following two reversals against Jimmy Anderson.
Dawid Malan played well for his 19 - which shows how poor the rest of the top-order were - but looked to be on his way when Starc got one through his defences and Aleem Dar gave him his marching orders.
The England No5 sent it straight upstairs and got the temporary reprieve, the ball clearly going over the stumps.
Anything you can do..
NATHAN LYON and Mitchell Starc had their own little competition in the middle of the England collapse.
Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow both fell shortly after tea caught & bowled - thanks to two stunning efforts from the Aussies.
Lyon's diving Superman-esque effort was impressive, but Starc's was pure reflexes and arguably just shades it.
When things are going your way, these chances stick.
Over to you, Craig
ENGLAND's top-order batsman were shown up by debutant Craig Overton - who was amazingly the highest scorer despite coming in at No9.
His innings was one of courage, aggression and timing, standing up to the barrage of bouncers from Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood.
The shot of the day goes to him - a giant, heaving slog sweep over midwicket which had Nathan Lyon glaring.
Welcome to Test cricket.
Woakes finally arrives
WHAT a comeback from England late in the day with the ball.
Jimmy Anderson was nearly unplayable under the lights and thought he had Smith with one that proved to be pitching just outside the line.
But it was Woakes who produced the moment of the day, arcing one back in at the Aussie captain and keeping England in this game - just moments after dismissing dangerman David Warner.
It's not over yet.
